My friend, Shanna Koltz, and I put this shoot together in 2013 after months of talking and planning.  It was our dream to do a soft, pretty, dreamy, country chic wedding editorial with horses.  So really, this shoot was truly a dream come true.  Here are some of my images from this equestrian wedding styled editorial shoot.

Internet... meet Dakota.  A driven young man from Bay Port High School.  I enjoyed working with Dakota because he is intelligent and genuine and that really shines through in his senior portraits.  The variety of locations and outfits we chose suit him perfectly.

When I met with Molly and Adam earlier this year to talk about their wedding and plan their engagement session, we decided on October at the Eau Claire Dells to take advantage of the natural beauty at the height of the Fall season.

We had fun exploring the park and finding all the most beautiful nooks and crannies for their backdrops.  And what Fall engagement session would be complete without a leaf fight?  :)

tiny children small no more { fine art halloween shoot }

2014 marked my third year of attending Models, Monsters, & Motors at Green Bay Fear, and my daughters second year of modeling for this event.  She dressed in her Halloween costume and applied her own makeup.  We only spent about half an hour walking around the grounds and choosing our favorite spots, but we got these great images to show for a brief session (brief due to my end-of-summer-sinus infection).

It's that time again!  This event marks the beginning of Fall shooting and gearing up for Halloween in North East Wisconsin... at least for me it does.  :)  We had so much fun last year and I love the final images, and certainly the transformation of my daughter, Alora, was my favorite concept.

This was such a fun shoot!  There was a lot of giggling and goofing around, and so many beautiful smiles!  We did this shoot right at my farm in Pulaski.

alex is 2 years old! { casi lea photography }

Sweet Alex is growing up so fast!  Seems like just yesterday I was taking his newborn pictures.

Alex's mom met us at Titletown Brewery for the first part of his summer session with his tricycle.  We meandered around Broadway Ave. after that, and Alex was loving the trains going by.  We ended up at Pamperin Park to splash in the water and show off his favorite shovel.  :)  Toddler sessions are less about posing and more about giving him something to do and having fun with it.

picnic engagement session with dogs! { green bay wedding photographer }

I had so much fun photographing Nicci and Colin for their engagement session at Fonferek Glen.  She had sent me some ideas and she did an amazing job putting the picnic together, how romantic!  We included their dogs in the session because they're part of the family and deserve their own closeup, too.  :)

Gwyneth has graduated from my Birth to Birthday portrait program!  Seems like just yesterday she was a tiny little newborn snuggled in the baby carriage at my studio.  How fast time flies!

You know it was a great session when your sides hurt after it's finished!  We took Brooke all over the Pulaski area and got a beautiful variety of backdrops to compliment her outfits.  We had a ton of fun with Brooke and her Mom, and she's such a beautiful girl inside and out.  We had a great time with her pictures.

I met Chelsea and Ryan at Fonferek's Glen in De Pere, WI for their summer engagement session.  Chelsea's outfits are perfect for her tough and sweet country girl personality and her use of the chalkboards for save-the-dates was adorable!  We took advantage of the golden hour just before sunset, my favorite time of day to shoot because of its flattering and romantic qualities.

chris + elise's elegant green bay wedding { wisconsin wedding photographer }

These two married in a traditional ceremony at Peace Lutheran Church, but partied the night away at the Ramada Plaza event space in Green Bay.  Elise being a very organized person was able to schedule enough time for us to make two stops for pictures in between the ceremony and reception.  We first went to Pamperin Park to soak up the beautiful late-Spring atmosphere for their romantic couple images, and some special shots with Chris' awesome car.  Then we headed to Hagemeister Park downtown to shoot bridal party pictures by the water and around the city deck. 

After our arrival at the Ramada the evening progressed into some pretty fantastic dancing with music by my FAVORITE DJ service in the area, lots of wonderful food, a wonderful gathering of family and friends and lots of joy and love.

Thank you so much, Elise and Chris for choosing me to be your photographer, I truly loved working with both of you!

natalee's senior rep portrait session { green bay graduation photographer }

Natalee's session was so much fun!  We walked around downtown Green Bay for some urban decay backgrounds for her en pointe set and three other outfits.  We headed out to Fon Ferek Glen after that to capture some more country chic styled images of Natalee as the sun was setting, as well as a fun set with her wearing a pink crinoline and her en pointe shoes.  Her Mom, Diane, even got in a few pictures.  Aren't they both stunning?  This was one of the biggest senior portrait shoots I've ever done with how many outfits and locations we used, and it was totally worth it!

erica + michael's spring garden wedding { wisconsin wedding photography }

Michael and Erica's wedding marked my first time working at Arbor View Gardens in Clintonville, Wisconsin. I was immediately taken with the perfectly manicured gardens, distressed old buildings, and the long wooden bridge that joined the 'getting ready' area of the property, with the ceremony site.

This wedding was full of personality, from the tree planting during the ceremony (instead of a unity candle), to the dessert showdown at dinner (instead of a traditional cake).  The flowers by Kailhofer's were stunning!  Their reception at Shawano Lake County Park gave us the opportunity for some beach pictures, which is perfect since these two live in Hawaii.

Erica and Michael are simply perfect together.  Erica is a beautiful, charming sweetheart, and Michael clearly loves her with his whole heart.

native inspired summer shoot { with horses }

My beautiful friend Margo and I got together one VERY early august morning to finally capture this shoot we had talked about for so long.  She did her own hair and styling, I provided the locations and horses, Margo's mom was our assistant.  Nothing complicated, but I love the results.

So I'm a sucker for soft and pretty, horses and sunshine, flowers and feathers... sue me.  :-)

what is a bridal portrait session? { green bay wedding photographer }

I get this question at my wedding consultations since this is something I offer with my wedding photography collections, but a lot of young brides aren't quite sure exactly what a bridal session entails.  It's not as commonplace as it once was since engagement sessions have become the top priority for pre-wedding imagery.

You certainly don't have to have a bridal session... but you know... they're just pretty and so much more relaxed than you will be on your big day when the tummy butterflies are just flapping away.  :)

These images are an example of a short bridal session we did in my studio, nothing complicated or stressful.  Just you, in your dress, looking and feeling beautiful.  Something to think about if you are really in love with your wedding gown or just need a self-esteem booster before your wedding day.

Let’s get together — at your favorite coffee shop, on the phone, even SKYPE — I’m flexible. We’ll chat about your wedding day, confirm your date, and discuss all the fun details. I’ll show you examples of beautiful custom wedding albums and other items that can become your cherished wedding day heirlooms. Together, we’ll select the perfect package for your wedding.
Once we confirm the details, I’ll prepare your contract. After you return your signed contract and the retainer fee, I’m officially your wedding photographer!

Show your loved ones how and where your love story began with your own engagement photo session.  Engagement sessions add so much to the story of who you are as a couple right now, and they’re an ideal way to become more comfortable in front of my lens before your wedding day.
Your engagement session can be as simple as a stroll through your favorite park, an intimate meal at your favorite café, or even a romantic return to where he proposed — anything you can imagine to share the imagery of your personal love story.

A SMOOTH FLOW TO YOUR SPECIAL DAY

Memorable weddings don’t just happen. They take a bit of organization. To ensure a smooth flow of beautifully captured memories of your day, a timeline of wedding events will help guide your planning.

• Getting Ready: The Bride & Groom — 1.5 to 2.0 hours

Plan to start earlier at the salon if you’re planning a “first look”.

• The Wedding Ceremony — 15 minutes to 1.5 hours

The length of your ceremony may vary widely. Afterward, allow more time for formal portraits (if planned) to allow your guests to leave the church or venue.

• Formal Group & Family Portraits — 30 minutes to 1.0 hour

Formal portrait timing can vary widely depending on group size and family/group combinations.

• Wedding Party & The Newlywed Couple — 1.0 to 3.0 hours

Timing can depend largely on the venue, size of the bridal party and variety of poses.

• Your Reception — 2.0 to 6.0 hours

Your first dance, cutting the cake, dancing guests, friends and family sharing your joy.
